Gran Hotel Sula

If you ever need to stay a night in San Pedro Sula, I'd recommend this place. It was clean, had some of the least offensive hotel-room-art I've ever seen, and was right on the central plaza. Great view of the slightly rotting "Municipal Palace," which is sandwiched between the big colonial-style Catholic church and the Church of Scientology.
The first night we had a room on the 6th floor facing the swimming pool. We ended up staying another night because the shopping was more complicated than anticipated and got the plaza view, also 6th floor. Breakfast at the poolside cafe is included (it's called Skandia and has pictures of Viking ships), there's cable tv (snail cream infomercials), a beautiful mosaic in lobby, a private patio off of every room, live music during the special Wednesday brunch, and an enormous man with Barbie dolls sitting near the check-in desk.

Ok, maybe that last one was luck.
